Mel Fuson I was at WalMart buying a bag of Purina dog chow for my dog , in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. Why else would I be buying dog chow, RIGHT ??? So on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again, and that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in inten......sive care, with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and all you do is load your pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Better watch what you ask me and be prepared for my answer. Drope Zn DIÁRIO DELA: No domingo à noite ele estava estranho. Saímos e fomos até um bar para tomar um drink. A conversa não estava muito animada, de maneira que pensei em irmos a um lugar mais íntimo. Fomos a um restaurante e ele ainda agindo de modo estranho. Perguntei o que era, e ele disse que nada, que não era eu. Mas não fiquei muito convencida. No caminho para casa, no carro, disse-lhe que o amava muito e de toda sua importância. Ele limitou-se a passar o braço por cima dos meus ombros. Finalmente chegamos em casa e eu já estava pensando se ele iria me deixar! Por isso tentei fazê-lo falar, mas sem me dar muita bola ligou a televisão, e sentou-se com um olhar distante que parecia estar me dizendo que estava tudo acabado entre nós. Por fim, embora relutante, disse que ia me deitar. Mais ou menos 10 minutos ele veio se deitar também e, para minha surpresa correspondeu aos meus avanços, e fizemos amor. Mas depois ele ainda parecia muito distraído e adormeceu. Comecei a chorar, chorei até adormecer. Já não sei o que fazer. Tenho quase certeza que ele tem alguém e que a minha vida é um autêntico desastre. DIÁRIO DELE: O meu time perdeu. Fiquei chateado a noite toda. Pelo menos dei umazinha. Mas ainda tô puto… time de merda!

La persona que recibe una patente por un invento del cual podrá vivir de las ganancias el resto de su vida sin trabajar un día más. Un vendedor se queda en una crisis de cinco años después que lo reconocieron como Empleado del Año. ¿Por qué? Porque prefiere pasar más tiempo pensando en cuando estaba en la cima que tratar de llegar allí otra vez. Aún peor son las personas que exageran lo que podrían haber hecho. Si es como la mayoría de las personas, sus respuestas reflejan que espera que los días que tenga por delante sean mejores. Ahora bien, le haré una pregunta más: ¿por qué piensa eso? ¿Su expectativa se basa en algo más que una esperanza vaga de que su vida mejorará? Confío que es así, pero para muchas personas no lo es. Solo suponen que mañana será mejor, pero no tienen ninguna estrategia para hacerlo mejor. Esperar un futuro mejor sin invertir en el hoy es como un agricultor que espera un cultivo sin siquiera plantar una semilla. Porque subestimamos el hoy ¿Alguna vez le ha preguntado a alguien lo que estaba haciendo y le respondió: Estoy haciendo tiempo? ¿Pensó de verdad en esta frase alguna vez? Una persona bien podría decir: Estoy derrochando mi vida o Me estoy matando porque como dijo Benjamín Franklin, el tiempo es de lo que está hecho la vida. Un amigo me escribió hace poco un correo electrónico con un poema llamado El credo del constructor de vidas. En parte esto es lo que dice: Hoy es el día más importante de mi vida, El ayer con sus éxitos y victorias, luchas y fracasos, se fue para siempre. El pasado es pasado. Hecho. Terminado. No puedo revivirlo. No le puedo dar marcha atrás ni cambiar. Aun así, aprenderé de él y mejoraré mi Hoy. Hoy, este momento AHORA, es el regalo de Dios para mí y es todo lo que tengo. Mañana con todos sus gozos y penas, triunfos y dolores, no ha llegado aún. A decir verdad, quizá mañana nunca llegue. Por lo tanto, no me preocuparé por mañana. Hoy es lo que me ha confiado Dios. Es todo lo que tengo. Haré lo mejor en él. Demostraré lo mejor de mí en él: Mi carácter, mis capacidades, mis habilidades... A mi familia y amigos, clientes y asociados. Identificaré las cosas que son más importantes para hacer Hoy, y esas cosas las haré hasta que se terminan. Y cuando se acabe este día miraré hacia atrás con satisfacción por lo que he logrado.
